Welcome to Heimkoma Commune.

This is a commune project helmed by Keiro. This was a project long in the making, germinated by living with roommates and housemates over the course of years, culminating in this project becoming a reality as part of a Discord conversation.

What is Heimkoma?

heimkoma f (genitive singular heimkomu, no plural)

homecoming, arrival at home.

This is something of a goal, a dream that once was, is and will be. Something to come home to. Not just merely a place where you sleep, wake up and do things that you do to survive the usual day-to-day things. But a home.

So... where do we start, then?

We start with people from all ethnicities, genders, orientations, abilities and ages. My concept of Heimkoma is rooted in a diverse and independent community, using the remote work revolution to define a new way of life.

That means building a community that can support multiple lifestyles, with remote work as the general starting point and then enabling members to build upon their skills in not only technology but also other aspects of life, such as cooking, gardening. Crafting things such as welding, wood-working.

Technology rules a large part of our lives, but that doesn't have to be the only thing that runs our lives.

Over time, there will be documents, pictures and video uploaded to this website to provide context, plans and the path moving forward.

Every link here is also a page, just so you know.

In light of the 2024 elections, we're not ready yet to accept applications for relocating to the Commune. But if you wish to support this project, a way to do this is coming.
